Running since 2009, our popular annual summer school at Torch Theatre is open to all and is focused on offering affordable access to high quality creative experiences led by professional dance artists to the community in Pembrokeshire. Summer School 2026
Very sadly we must announce that for the first time since 2020, and only the second time since 2010, we will not be holding Joon Dance Summer School this year.
The costs of running the Summer School have doubled in that time and our prices have not. We have relied increasingly on external funding and support-in-kind from the Torch to allow us to create such a high-quality creative experience whilst keeping prices accessible to all.
Much of the administrative work of running Joon has also been historically done on a voluntary basis. Unfortunately, this is no longer sustainable.
We are taking a pause while we figure out what the future is for the company, including continuing our work at Torch Theatre, in the Pembrokeshire landscape, and performances with our community.
We remain hopeful that we can find a way forward and return with a more sustainable model that allows Joon Dance to continue for many years to come. Ysgol Haf 2026
Yn anffodus, rhaid inni gyhoeddi, am y tro cyntaf ers 2020, a dyma’r ail dro yn unig ers 2010, na fyddwn yn cynnal Ysgol Haf Dawns Joon eleni.
Mae costau rhedeg yr Ysgol Haf wedi dyblu yn ystod y cyfnod hwnnw ac nid yw ein prisiau wedi gwneud hynny. Rydym wedi dibynnu fwyfwy ar gyllid allanol a chefnogaeth mewn nwyddau gan y Torch i ganiatáu inni greu profiad creadigol o ansawdd mor uchel gan gadw prisiau'n hygyrch i bawb.
Mae llawer o'r gwaith gweinyddol o redeg Joon ar hyd yr amser wedi'i wneud yn wirfoddol. Yn anffodus, nid yw hyn yn gynaliadwy bellach.
Rydym yn cymryd saib wrth i ni ddarganfod beth yw dyfodol y cwmni, gan gynnwys parhau â'n gwaith yn Theatr Torch, yn nhirwedd Sir Benfro, a pherfformiadau gyda'n cymuned.
Rydym yn parhau i obeithio y gallwn ddod o hyd i ffordd ymlaen a dychwelyd gyda model mwy cynaliadwy sy'n caniatáu i Joon Dance barhau am flynyddoedd lawer i ddod.
