Zosia Dowmunt’s I am an island is a satire of the ‘artiste’ in interview. Using popular songs and the performers own characters, Zosia puts the artist stereotype, her dancers and herself, in the spotlight and invites us to laugh at her.
After the success of Daniel Walters’ piece for JooN at Resolution! ’09, his upcoming Murder of a time unknown is eagerly anticipated. A dark story of deceit and jealousy, told through visceral movement and loaded with atmosphere.
Nai Walker’s Everything poem is set to music of the same title by her brother Sam Walker, from Brighton based duo The Adventurists, and was performed to sell out audiences at the Brighton Fringe in May. A duet about a song, the song is about everything.
James Finnemore’s liquid mercury movement style demands every bit as much articulation as is does strength. His trio commission for JooN promises to be challenging to perform and awesome to watch.
PLUS: Nice to meet you... I win an old favourite from last year’s programme, Zosia Dowmunt’s duet is a playful look at human relationships, tender yet fiercely competitive. And solos from Kim Noble and Hugh Stanier, two absolutes gems of performers.
